Shri Mahakal Lok Corridor - Ujjain

Welcome to my exclusive corner dedicated to the splendid Mahakal Lok Corridor.

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, is famous for the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple, which is one of the world’s 12 sacred jyotirlingas.

The majestic Mahakaleshwar, or Mahakal Temple, which represents the power and grace of Lord Shiva, is located at the heart of the Mahakal Lok Corridor.

According to the Puranas, Lord Shiva pierced the world as the Jyotirlinga, an unending pillar of light.

While the other Jyotirlingas face east, Mahakal is the only one facing south. This is due to the widely held belief that the South is the direction of death. Mahakaleshwar is worshipped to prevent an untimely death.

Devotees travel great distances to this temple in search of blessings, spiritual comfort, and the opportunity to witness the revered Bhasma Aarti, where sacred ashes are offered to Lord Shiva.

About Mahakal Lok Corridor

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mahakal Lok on October 11, 2022. With a total area of 2.5 hectares, it is one of India’s longest mega corridors.

With a backdrop of breathtaking architecture and intricate carvings, this corridor offers an aesthetically spectacular and spiritually uplifting experience.

Shiva worshippers can now reach the Mahakaleshwar Temple through the recently opened Mahakal Lok Corridor instead of walking through a crowded area. Although phase 1 of the project has already been completed, this place is still being developed.

Features of Mahakal Lok Corridor
