Madhya Pradesh - Heart of India

Madhya Pradesh, literally “central province,” is a state in central India. It is referred to as the “heart of India” because it has so much to offer.

It has housed the cultural and spiritual heritage of almost every religion. There are numerous monuments, intricately carved temples, stupas, forts, and palaces throughout the state.

Madhya Pradesh is an ideal destination for travellers from all over the world, thanks to its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning natural beauty.

The official language of the state is Hindi, which is spoken by more than two-thirds of the population and is used in all government transactions.

Madhya Pradesh has a diverse range of cuisines, including the distinctive Malwa cuisine, the Nimar cuisine, and the Bagelkhand cuisine. Popular foods include Rass Kheer, Lapsi, Kalakand, Lavang Latika, Palak Puri, and Bhutte Ki Khees.

UNESCO has designated three locations in Madhya Pradesh as World Heritage Sites: the Khajuraho Group of Monuments (1986), the Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi (1989), and the Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka (2003).

This state has something for everyone, from the ancient temples of Orchha to the wildlife sanctuaries of Kanha and Bandhavgarh.

Madhya Pradesh is an excellent destination for those interested in Indian culture and history. With many ancient temples, forts, and monuments, the state has a rich cultural heritage.

The state also has a number of vibrant cities, such as Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior. Madhya Pradesh also has many small towns and villages that offer a unique glimpse into the local culture for those seeking a more rural experience.

Madhya Pradesh is well-known for its folk and traditional music. The Maihar gharana, the Gwalior gharana, and the Senia gharana are three of Madhya Pradesh’s best-known Hindustani classical music gharanas. Tansen and Baiju Bawra, two of mediaeval India’s most famous singers, were born in modern-day Madhya Pradesh near Gwalior.
